My favorite gluten free place yet! I'm not gluten free by choice, so having truly gluten free food is important; they have a menu dedicated to gluten free items that are more than just an afterthought like at other restaurants. LOVED the options and the food of course is marvelous!

This was without a doubt one of the most disgusting meals I've ever eaten. Shrimp tacos had no flavor except for a mayonnaise dressing. Tomatoes and lettuce were of Taco Bell quality. I don't know what is "Fresh" in their fresh mex. What a joke.

I would not return to this restaurant again. Big problem with portions. I ate my "main course" of enchiladas in 6 bites, which I could maybe tolerate if the enchiladas were amazing but they were not. Honestly, they were mediocre and not very full inside the tortilla. The chips and salsa starter were very yummy, which had given me hope for the rest of the meal. The sides were good and well executed, but I'm not there for the sides. I'm there for the entree. 6 bites is not enough.

I thought the food was fairly bland. Maybe it's because I've been spoiled by the Mexican food in AZ. I ordered a combo plate with enchiladas and a taco. They didn't have machaca beef so it was disappointing. I had to add salsa to everything to pepper it up a bit. Typical Midwest Mexican. What was strange was the floor was very slippery. Either it's the cleaner they use or it's greasy. I could literally skate around in my shoes.

Stop here on a cross country trip. It was fabulous. Great flavor, portions were right on and service was great. If your in Sioux Falls make this your meal stop.

As a vegetarian Chevys farmers market enchiladas are the BEST! There Sunday brunch is also good. My husband likes the Mexican bulldog drink.

Service was great. I went with a family of six, two adults and four kids. Our hostess was great with the kids and met the booster and high chair needs right away. The server was also very good in fact the best I have had in a long time. Food was as expected. Noting to write home about but overall very tasty. Good experience.

Great service, the Staff were very friendly and seemed eager to help. Food prices were very reasonable for the amount of food they serve. I will be returning on my next trip through Sioux Falls.

For chain mexican, this place is alright. It's a solid 3. This location was packed on half price margarita night so expect a small wait on busy nights. And if you don't feel like waiting- hey, La Fiesta is right down the street and has some good mexican. My favorite part about here is not the unlimited chips and salsa or the Chicken Fajita but the margaritas. I'd recommend the watermelon.. although they skimped on the tequila.

This place is fantastic. They have the best Cobb salad ever, with their apple walnut vinaigrette, and margaritas are great. My son loves to watch them making their own tortillas. Best Mexican in town!

This place is terrible. For all the great local mexican restaurants that this city has to offer, there should be no reason to frequent this place. The food is just plain bad, and the service is very average. They have some decent drink specials, but other than that don't bother.

I just had a really nice experience today at this Chevys. My mom and I are driving cross country and needed a place to chow down....real bad. This place had a really great bartender from whom I ordered a big tostada salad, with many modifications since Im gluten free and dairy free. Doug was super nice and helpful and helped the staff get creative to make my salad something special. I got some extra chips too. Awesome!

Had lunch here one day last week on a trip to Sioux Falls. It was good. Had a combo of a chili relleno and cheese enchilada with refried beans and rice. Another had a combo of tortilla soup (waitress called it spicy, husband did not) and the steak quesadilla. And our other eater got the vegetable lunch burrito which was HUGE. She took more than half home. The salsa that came with the chips was fresh, but sure could have used some heat. We asked for a spicier salsa which the waitress brought. It had a little more heat, but not much. The relleno had a thick batter, but was very tasty. I swear everywhere I go restaurants make rellenos differently, and this was a good version. The enchilada was okay. Beans and rice okay. It was certainly all very filling, and the little pile of corn/cornbread-like stuff was a nice touch.

I ended up at Chevy's Fresh Mex on accident. I actually was trying to find a different Mexican restaurant on my GPS but settled with it since it was on my way. I went around lunch and the place was certainly busy. With outdoor seating, lots of lunch menu perks and an interesting boastful quote of "there is no-CANS in our kitchen" (Everything is made fresh.) it was an interesting dining experience. For starters, because it is a "Mexican Grill", the selection for a vegetarian was very, very limiting. There wasn't even anything with beans and the best non-meat options were oftentimes cheese with modified sauce(I.e. enchiladas without enchilada sauce.) I ended up getting an enchilada and a chile relano. Both were OK and the Chile Relano was one of the better versions of the dish that I have had. The chips and beans were incredibly salty..too salty IMO. The cheese was cheddar-ish in the Enchilada which I also was not a huge fan of. The service was OK. The drink menu was extensive and featured some interesting drinks such as $30 shots of tequila(yikes!). I didn't try any of those items but it seems like a very suitable place for drinks and a good time. It did feature a "cantina" for the serious drinkers and partiers. Overall, it was OK. It was better than a lot of chain Mexican grill restaurants that I have been to but the restrictive diet I have definitely lowered my opinion of it greatly..and too much salt!

Had the smothered burrito and it was very good. Love the home made chips and salsa too.

I recently went to this fine restaurant on a first date. The waiter busted his butt to make sure we were doing good and the food was excellent. We both had a fresh watermelon margarita. Wasn't sure I was going to like it going in but it turned out to be very good drink. The chips are awesome here!

Chevy's is one of a few mexican restaurants in Sioux Falls. The service on a busy Friday night was very fast. The chips were quite good, but the salsa was bland. The entrees are only satisfactory. The burritos were only OK. My Taco was good. I can only give 2 stars because the food quality ranks well below, other Mexican restaurants in Sioux Falls.

Chevvy's is a great place to take friends for a good meal. We wrere seated fast and the staff visited with us as well as served. Very clean. I do think that the salsa is a little bland but was fresh. I little more clilantro would do it good.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
